90-Second Newbery Film Festival: Brooklyn Screening!

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in just a few minutes. Creative takes are encouraged: think Charlotte’s Web as a horror movie, or The Tale of Desperaux as a musical!
For fourteen years we’ve screened the best kid-made movies annually in Chicago, Boston, San Antonio and many other cities . . . including right here in New York City!
Make your FREE reservation for the BROOKLYN screening of the 2025 90-Second Newbery on Saturday, February 22, 2025 here: https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/90secondnewbery/90-second-newbery-film-festival-2025-brooklyn-screening
The screening is at 1 pm at the Brooklyn Central Library (in the Dweck Auditorium), hosted by film festival founder James Kennedy (author of The Order of Odd-Fish) and Newbery Honor winner Rita Williams-Garcia (author of One Crazy Summer and more).
We’ll be showing movies made by kids from the New York area and some of the best from around the country.
