Visiting Artist Jamie Campbell is a long time puppet and prop maker, teaching artist. Jamie draws her inspiration from nature, folklore, tradition, and stomping around the city.
In July she exhibited large scale puppets made from recycled materials in the the pier fiber exhibition Phantastic Phibers. She also created a collaborative installation of 2D and 3D work with exhibit curator and resident artist Bonnie MacAllister in the gallery space. Jamie created crochet snails, embroidered pigeons, and a wearable puppet fashioned from discarded materials and based upon folk traditions.
MacAllister has invited Campbell to continue the themes of Phantastic Phibers as visiting artists for three workshops in October. The event takes place in Studio 16 on the second floor.
